Thanksgiving at our Church, 28 Dalgetty Road, Beaumaris, (Melway 86D8)
on Sunday 16th September 2001 at 2:15 p.m. to celebrate the first 50 years
of public Anglican worship in Beaumaris, which began on Sunday 16th
September 1951 in the Beaumaris garage*
of Clive and Linda Gleadell.

of St. Matthews Anglican Church, Cheltenham, reported, in its issue of
October 1951, under the heading
"Church in Garage" as follows: Twenty-three people assembled in the spacious garage of Mr. C. Gleadell at 11 Rennison Street, Beaumaris, on September 16th, to become, under God, the church in that area. It was an inspiring service. We pray that the number of worshippers will steadily be added to. Every Sunday there will be a service at 2:15 p.m., conducted by the Vicar. … The Archbishop has written as follows:- "I am very glad indeed that you have decided to start services at Beaumaris, and hope that your venture will prove most successful. …" |
