Vicar
Rev. Wayne Walters
Wayne is one of six brothers. He grew up in Thomastown, attending the local Methodist Church. He completed an Arts course in history at Melbourne University, where he also served on the committee of the Christian Union. He then served as Youth Minister at St Mark’s Niddrie. Ordained ministry began with a School Chaplaincy role at Beaconhills Christian College, while being Assistant Curate at St James Pakenham; then a season at Holy Trinity Bacchus Marsh. Wayne's first Priest in Charge role was at the Parish of Wandin, Seville & Mt Evelyn at the gateway to the beautiful Yarra Valley, then at Christ Church Dingley. Wayne has loved sport all his life and has umpired Aussie Rules football and played competitive cricket, baseball and table tennis. He continues to value opportunities for exercise through walking and (hopes to make a comeback to) swimming and cycling. He is an avid reader. Wayne is married to Roslyn and they have two daughters and two grandsons. Email Wayne or call: 0425 163 730. |
